Okay, I've officially had it with this entire website. I don't know why I've kept coming back here for so long. The writers here are grammatically inept, and seem to have little actual knowledge about what they write. I thought this site was a pro-Mac/Apple site. The only thing here is (usually unfounded) negativity in a majority of the articles. Enough! I shall never come back, but I'm certain none of you cares.
Flame me. Go ahead. I'll never know it.
I disagree with your statements: "Both Leopard and Vista are nothing more than incremental upgrades. Apple admits as much, with Leopard taking OS X from 10.4 to 10.5."
Tiger is hardly an "incremental" upgrade to its predecessor, and Leopard hardly seems "incremental" to Tiger. I think Apple has been using an incremental "dot" numbering scheme only to allow the retention of the OS X moniker. These upgrades, however, are substantial enough that Apple COULD have numbered them as 10, 11, 12... [X, XI, XII...] etc.
I'll probably sound like a jerk here, but I feel like I HAVE to say something. Are you a professional journalist, or is this more like a blog for you? I ask this because there is an abundance of typos, misspellings, misused words and poor grammar in your article. You're supposed to be part of the tech-savvy bunch. At the very least, use your spell-check feature!
Thanks
I've had absolutely no issue whatsoever. I upgraded through "Software Update," and quickly got the new version along with its QuickTime counterpart. The only "issue" that I have involves my own stupidity. I downloaded (bought) the iPod game "Vortex" for my iPod nano with the understanding that the game would work with all 5G iPods. Apparently, the nano is NOT a 5G iPod. It's a 1G nano. Sounds like semantics to me, but I bought a game I can't use. My bad.
Boot Camp is DEFINITELY selling more Macs. I'm a graphic designer at ESPN. We've slowly been migrating to PC's out of necessity for the past 3 years. With the release of Boot Camp, our VP of Creative Technologies has said that we'll be switching nearly 2000 computers to Macintel boxes over the next 2 years. I, for one, am ecstatic.
