Description
The PowerBook 3400c ran a PowerPC 603e processor at 180Mhz with a 1.3Gb hard drive, 200Mhz with a 2Gb hard drive and 240Mhz with a 3Gb hard drive. It came with a 1.4Mb floppy drive and an optional CD-ROM drive. The PowerBook 3400c had 16Mb of RAM that was expandable to 144Mb. It had a 12.1” active matrix screen with an 800 x 600 resolution. It had two Type II or one Type III PC card. Ethernet or modem connectivity was optional. It had an analog audio input/output, a built-in microphone and built-in speakers.
History
At its release, the PowerBook 3400c was the fastest portable available. It was Apple’s attempt at reviving its stalled PowerBook line. Though it was expensive and could only support video mirroring, it was fast and had a number of features.

Timeline
Introduced in early 1997, the PowerBook 3400c was discontinued in early 1998 to make room for the G3 PowerBook.
